CONCERT + JAM!
Step into a journey from the African origins of Abakuà music up to its development in Cuba and into the Cuban rumba: two incredibly rich music styles in which voices and percussions blend together to create a very powerful and energetic music experience.
Valter Paiola, Afro-Cuban percussion and singing master from the historic Timba Music Factory, a Cuban oriented music school in Rome, Italy, is accompanied by the talented students of WMDC Codarts who participated in the workshop on Rumba and Abakuà music that took place just before this concert in Rotterdam.
The concert will envelop the musicians on stage and the audience in a single embrace and it’s going to be followed by a jam session where all musicians are welcome to come on stage and play.
