Tonight piano virtuoso Abel Marcel aka Pianomulato introduces Martha Galarraga to DIZZY’s stage.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Martha is fully immersed in Yoruba culture, Afro-Cuban dance and singing, since her birth. She is an expert in singing Yoruba as well as Congo, Arará, Tumba Francesa, Franco Haitiano, Gagá, Carabali, Rumba, Son, Chachacha, Mambo, Salsa songs, following in her father’s footsteps, Lázaro Galarraga, a great authority on Yoruba songs. Her energy, her ardor, her powerful voice and thorough knowledge of tradition make her one of the best interpreters of Afro-Caribbean music.
