For this session of NuJazz Wednesdays, Rotterdam-based Gregory Eric Smith invites guitarist Jasper Stadhouders and bassist Aaron Lumley, both very well-known from the Amsterdam and international improvising scenes.Stadhouders plays his instrument with a unique intensity, putting forth a tremendous amount of energy, as if he was playing guitar for the very last time in his life, and challenging his fellow musicians to join him on his combustible adventure.
Aaron Lumley is an exploratory bassist who tunes his instrument in a non-traditional manner that allows him to achieve extra vibrations
with his bass strings, creating a huge singing-like tone which contrasts with his driving, pulsing bass lines.
Gregory Eric Smith is a colourful and dynamic drummer who has years of experience working in the multi-media field of music, visuals, and dance, and relishes every opportunity to venture into unchartered territory and discover new forms of expression.
